先日紹介しました「ActionPad」。

いきなり使えなくなったとコメントを頂きましたので（ここ）、紹介したエントリーのURLを含め現状を説明し解決策を教えて欲しい旨メールしたところ回答を頂きました

Thanks a lot for your great feedback! You might have mentioned that the current version of ActionPad expires today. We have just released a new beta version of ActionPad. New features and changes in this version are:

• BlackBerry® Storm(TM) Compatibility
  • ActionPad(TM) should now be fully compatible with the BlackBerry® Storm(TM).
  • A new button toolbar can be activated in the settings allowing Storm(TM) users to quickly access: “New memo”, “Options”, “About”.

• Memo Content Encryption
  • Each memo can be protected by a separate password.
  • AES encryption is used to protect the memo’s content from unauthorized access.
  • Encryption support can be activated in “Options”. This will enable:
    • Encryption / decryption indicator in memo listing (might slow down listing updates with huge memo lists).
    • “Encrypt” button in the “New” / “Edit” memo screens.
    • Automatic password prompt when opening an encrypted memo.
  • If a WRONG password is entered you will NOT see a “Password wrong” dialog. The wrong password is used to “decrypt” the encrypted memo message and display the result which will NOT be the original plain text you entered in the first place. When you are not human you can’t determine the difference.
  • If the CORRECT password is entered, everything will be displayed as expected.

Important Notice:

The password used for the encryption is not stored on the device. So there is NO WAY to recover a password. So if you loose the password, your data is lost. Take care of it!

The AES cipher has a variable block length of 128, 192, or 256 bits. A key length of at least 128 bit is used to encrypt data. The AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) is an open encryption standard that has been adopted by the U.S. government for protecting confidential data.
